MLK DEDICATION AND SURVIVING HURRICANE IRENE

We survived Hurricane Irene and braved the outside elements for a chance to see the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Dedication.

The statue was awesome and the lines were not too bad but thousands were there to see and behold. It was a moving statue and very touching to see it in its prominent place on the tidal basin near the Lincoln Memorial. 

We also got to see the Buffalo Soldiers burial grounds in the Arlington Cemetaery and President Taft of Ohio's burial site in the Arlington Cemetery with its great marker.

What a reat Memorial Dedication Week-end in spite of the cancellation of the "Official Dedication Ceremony" which is being rescheduled. If I were you i wouldn't miss the next opportunity you have to visit and view the latest and greatest memorial on the mall. It will surprise you with its majesty.
